The works of artist Ahmed Ragab Sakr
seem open to all directions, open to all
contemporary horizons. They hold the
constituents of the Egyptian heritage de-
spite their abstract strictness and ten-
dency towards extreme reduction, espe-
cially in his recent artworks. Hence, they
have combined spirituality and geometry
and become more beautiful with the navy
blue, this Egyptian blue that differs from
Picasso's pale blue period and suffering
figures worried about the reality of life.
It is an abstract spiritual ritual dipped in
the blueness of the Nile, the beauty of
the "Mediterranean" and parts of Egypt's
heavens imbued with purity, serenity, and
brightness.
