ing the 22nd Alexandria Biennale, in which
the young artist Ahmed Sakr has presented a
grand-prize-winning installation that consists
of a compilation of a huge number of soft drink
bottle caps, which have never been seen in
such an astonishing amount and a great im-
pact.
This work has amazed audiences who are al-
ways thirsty for renewing their aesthetic tastes.
Attention has shifted here to the venues and
halls, not to the work of art itself, allowing art
to live with reproduction, replication and use
of all the technological-mass communication
means the artist finds. However, the artist who
arduously exerted his effort in the past to add
special touches in techniques based on hand
and eye, focuses his effort nowadays on find-
ing a unique idea.
