officially unveiled on December
19th, 1872 at Muhammad Ali Square
in Alexandria (presently Al-Mansheya
Square).

The execution of this statue was a
reason for Khedive Isma’il to celebrate
Jacquemart, who later was commissioned
to sculpt the famous four lions of Qasr El-
Nil Bridge which stayed on the bridge at
all its stages since its first construction in
1869 during the reign of Khedive Isma’il;
they accompanied its renovation project
in the reign of Fouad and continued to
be there until now as an integral part
of its artistic and historical construction
identity. Jacquemart was the one who
sculpt these famous statues to be placed
at the two entrances of the bridge in
1873.

One of the most famous artworks of Muhammad Ali Pasha on Horse, original bronze
Jacquemart is the statue of Soliman Pasha small-scale statue of Muhammad Ali currently at
Al-Faransawi in 1874, which was one of Al-Mansheya Square in Alexandria, 100 x 67 cm,
the landmarks of downtown Cairo, when
it was standing in the square known as by Henri Alfred Jacquemart.
Soliman Pasha Square «presently Talaat
Harb Square» - before moving to its
current location in the front yard of the
Egyptian National Military Museum.

During 1874 to 1875, Jacquemart sculpted the statue of Muhammad Laz-oglou
Bey known as statue of Lazoghli which stands in the square that bears the same name
at downtown.
