“Maqamat Al-Ebdae” (Assemblies of Creativity):
A sculptural work that represents a kind of art fantasy embodied in the free mass of each
piece and the presentation of “maqamat” through the graceful close bodies, forming an in-
tegrated three-dimensional work with a prominent relationship among the close “maqamat”
that create an exceptional state to present the translation of “maqamat” into graceful bodies.
Taking into account its original melodic “maqamat”, each “maqam” has a sentence; Bin La-
hej employed the classical Arabic script “Thuluth” as a traditional element, adding a sense
of movement to the sculpture that generally enjoys a contemporary character.
A kind of visual excitement and a state of attraction are deliberately created by Bin Lahej in
order to achieve a state of a perfect balance between the eye of the beholder and the envi-
ronment of the work as a whole.
