Her uncle King Fouad was impressed The clay model of King Farouk Statue created by
by her art; she was charged with sculpting Princess Samiha Hussein before molding. Source:
a statue of him. Its clay maquette was
finalized in 1935. It was sent to Paris Al-Mussawar magazine, April 23rd, 1937
where it was molded in gypsum. It was
exhibited for time in the Egyptian legation
there before it was returned to Egypt to
be retained in Abdeen Palace.

Samiha Hussein also sculpted busts of
the majority of Muhammad Ali dynasty,
including statue of Fouad, statues of her
father Sultan Hussein, her grandfather
Khedive Isma’il and the founder of the
dynasty Muhammad Ali.

The latest of these statues she made
was a statue of her cousin King Farouk,
who sat in front of her as a model during
the sculpting at the start of his reign; she
completed his clay model in April 1937.
Farouk ordered the statue to be placed in
the House of Representatives. Its model
