The statue of “The Thinker” (-1904bronze) by Auguste Rodin (1917-1840) was
executed in an Impressionistic style using the reflections of light and treatment of
surfaces as if they had a pictorial texture. “The Thinker” symbolized the “deep thinking”
and most likely embodied the poet Dante, author of the “Divine Comedy”, while
ruminating, between tension and stillness. It also embodied both “dream and reality”.

François Auguste René Rodin «French», 1840 / 1917, The Thinker, Oxidized
bronze, 71x31x45 cm.
