his behavior and relationship with
others, selecting who corresponds to
his doctrine and direction, and avoiding
others or who are stubborn and angry.
He is therefore with responsive rational
and angry impressive identity, like his
art which combines in its structure
between the sober mind, knowledge and
craftsmanship, and rebellion, spontaneity
and sometimes insanity.

From my close relationship with him
throughout his career since the first half
of the sixties, I am sure that behind the
episodes of violence and anger vital
reasons as a kind of defense of his
achievements and principles, facing
waves of excessive attack on him. People
are either to be with them or against
them along the line; I see his calmness
sometimes and his tactical emotions at
other times.

He was confident of his cultural, artistic and ideological structure, and unable
to be compromised in level, standard of experience, knowledge and awareness.
He becomes very aggressive. Reasons of this violent situation are many and every
session has a different discussion. “People sometimes regard you as a product and
not as a person." he said.

Selim was an expert of the bureaucracy of Egypt. He was passionate about reading
in arts, thought, poetry, music, politics and other related subjects. He reads proficiently
in English and French and was highly enlightening and modern.

This enabled him to persuade and present his ideas and projects, to shine in the
management of the tasks assigned to him and overcome obstacles, and to get support,
maintain a positive relationship with his superiors, and avoid clash with them. He had
a wide network of those who are influential and prestigious, also decision-makers,
media professionals, and artistic movement management in particular. He expanded
his relations with the stars and pioneers of culture, literature, politics and arts like
music, theater, cinema, poetry and novel, depending on his great awareness of these
creative aspects and his experience in some of them, such as the music of which stars
were his wife Marcelle Matta, and his daughter Amira Selim.

Greatly, Selim started the experience of the Czech Cultural Center in the heart of
Cairo, where he practiced cultural and creative management in an unprecedented
manner in the country, and then his extending experience of the establishment of
the Center of Arts in Aisha Fahmy Palace in Zamalek, composing a team of trained
