artists, writers, poets, philosophers, critics of literature, theater, cinema and fine art.
Selim was an advocate for the establishment of the annual Youth Salon with the
significant support of Minister Farouk Hosni, the then head of the sector, and a
group of leading avant-garde artists. The Axis Group founded by Nawar, Nashar,
Farghaly, and Razzaz in 1981 with its conceptual presentations and propositions was
an important provocation that confused traditional ideas and methods and widely
opened the door to the postmodern manifestations. This was inspiring for youth since
their first salon. When the call turned into a reality, successful salon sessions were
held and revealed new generations of innovators in a strong competition atmosphere
to prove themselves, especially supported them Ahmed Fouad Selim.
