How many opportunities do we have, professionals and art
lovers, to see an artistic show only for Orientalist artworks? What
do current generations know about Egypt’s rare and unique
treasure of the works of the great and famous world artists? I
can start my speech by asking more than a question that is in its
context an answer that highlights the importance of this great
artistic show of the masterpieces of the Orientalists who passed
through Egypt and were enchanted them with its uniqueness,
civilization, location, nature, people and lifestyle enrich with
beautiful customs and traditions. Showing creatively the true face
of Egypt and its people, they competed and left a very important
heritage because it is a true documentation of the historical
epochs of Egyptian society from the eighteenth century until the
mid-twentieth century. This exhibition is also in celebration of
this unique legacy and in appreciation and honor for those who
presented it from major world artists such as Girardin, Boucher,
Théodore Frère, Clément, Dughet, Hagemans, Berchère, Lenoir,
Gérome, Dauzats, Leiden, Decamps, Beppi Martin, Lucien
Mainssieux, Pierre Giraud, Eugène Delacroix, and Auguste
Dominique. With their fine art creativity in world and human
history, they contributed to the observation of important periods
of Egypt’s history and from a different perspective, highlighting its
artistic richness and the diversity of its civilizational vocabulary;
their works reflected the extent of their charm and love in this
country. It is a qualitative, unique, and very important exhibition,
experiencing pride, knowledge, awareness, documentation, and
beauty. We will experience the beautiful and authentic Egypt
in the eyes of its lovers from around the world. It is a picture
of Egypt’s leadership and the superiority of Egypt and its soft
power. It is an unforgettable artistic show and an opportunity
not much available. The exhibition also comes at a time when
the Egyptian state seeks to use all its tools to restore the image of
leadership and enlightenment regionally and address the world
in a language that can only be grateful to the value of this great
country.
