Exhibiting the masterpieces of “Orientalists” that is unique
to Egypt in terms of quantity and quality is an important idea
that has delighted me for various reasons: first and foremost, to
revitalize the world’s memory with the value of Egypt and its
rare treasures of human heritage as well as raising the awareness
of the knowledge of the new generations of their country
standing over time in an artistic image that reflects the charm
and fascination of western artists with its beauty and historical,
cultural and geographical uniqueness. The masterpieces that we
will see are part of Egypt’s heritage and people; they are rare and
invaluable artistic artifacts. It is an opportunity to enjoy a creative
image that can only be found in a country as old as Egypt. It is
also an opportunity to the works to breathe and feel the viewing
audience in front of them when they are surprised and impressed
after absence due to renovation and modernization of the two
most important museums containing these treasures, Gezira
Museum and Museum of Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil and his
wife in addition to the acquisitions of the Museum of Fine Arts
in Alexandria; it is one of the rare international art events; it is
on the land of Egypt and in front of Egypt’s people, citizens or
guests.
