Artist Farouk Hosny remains a significant milestone in our cultural
life. Although being engaged in heavy cultural missions during his
tenure as the Minister of Culture for many years, trying to present
cultural projects aiming for the advancement of different Egyptian
arts, Hosny has never stopped his art career as one of the Egyptian
contemporary art movement’s prominent plastic artists following
abstractionism, in which he found all the necessary elements to create
his highly distinctive art world.

Special worlds full of imagery and elements were associated with
Hosny, and he was associated with them after their removal from their
real world. He removed their partial details, liberated them from their
reality, and added to them an abstract quality, developing forms that
express his ideas within his world.

He has adhered to a desire for rebellion against all stereotypes and
put them in a structure of relations and overlaps driving the viewer to
further contemplation to understand the color and symbolic significance
filling his works of art.

Despite that pure abstraction distinguishing him throughout his
art career, the diversity of his approaches was his most important
characteristic. These approaches varied among free abstraction,
geometric abstraction, and use of symbolic figures, in addition to
the use of collage in some of his previous and present works in these
abstracts, his special symbols, and breathtaking color spaces. These
different visions helped him portray all his dreams, feelings, and life
experiences without directly explaining them, but leaving his abstract
imagery to reveal their secrets.

Today, the Center of Arts displays his latest art productions to get
much closer, and know the new works of the world of Farouk Hosny.
