وتؤدي الطبيعة الحساسة للماشية (كرمز) إلى تعريفها، وكانت ضرورية للأضحية،بالطعام والحليب والجلد
، والتي تعتبر مساهماتها الإنت�اجية والعائلية والمنزلية الأساسية هي في الغالب غير مرئي�ة،بأنها الجنس الأضعف
فسأستفيد من هذا التوتر الذي يحيط بالصراعات التي لا يمكن التوفيق بينها في مناصرة العاملات المنزليات اللاتي
يتم تقدير قيمتهن من خلال قدرتهن على البقاء والامتث�ال للقواعد والتي تكمن قوتهن في يأسهن الرهيب والقدرة
يهدف العمل الفني الذي يتمثل في جلد للبقر والذي يحمل،على التغلب عليه كله تحت مسمى الحفاظ على التوازن

Women’s hair collected from Filipino Domestic workers in Egypt, leather, thread, cowhide
rug The Philippines has long been a source of exported/ exploited labor, with thousands of
women leaving their own families to take care of other people’s children in distant lands,
where the culture can be discriminatory and cruel to household help. In Egypt, domestic
workers are excluded from the country’s labor law, leaving them unprotected from mistreat-
ment and abuse.
In ancient Egypt, the cow was a symbol of motherhood. Migrant nannies and caregivers
have taken on the role of surrogate mom, allowing the ladies of the house to pursue careers
or leisure. Yet their passports are often confiscated, and their identities are taken away from
them.
This cowhide rug comes from the story of one Filipina domestic helper in Egypt, who works
illegally for a wealthy family. Pieces of her hair, along with those of several other Filipinas in
Egypt, have been sewn into the rug, blending into the cow hair like the invisible cattle they
have become.
