Alex Giottino, A Historical Scene, The painting is replicated from “Thusnelda at the
Triumphal Procession of Germanicus”, 189x 258 cm, painting by the German painter
Karl Theodor von Piloty (1826 - 1886), Neue Pinakothek in Munich, Germany.
The most prominent figures of the painting are the Roman General Germanicus sitting on his
throne at the top right, Thusnelda and her son Tumelicus holding her robe. At the right, two
figures are talking; the Greek historian, philosopher, and geographer Strabo, and the Roman
historian and politician Cornelius Tacitus holding a paper as if he is documenting the event.
