و ﻟﻛﻧﻧﺎ ﻧﺣس ﻓﻲ ﻧﻔ س اﻟوﻗت اﻧﻧﺎ ﻧﻛﺗﺷﻔﮫ. .ﻻﻧﮫ ﻋﺎﻟم ﻛﺎﻣل ﯾﻌﺞ ﺑﺎﻟﺣﯾﺎة و ﯾﺗﺟﺎوب ﻣﻊ ﻣﺎ ﻓﻲ داﺧﻠﻧﺎ ﻣن ﺣﯾﺎ ة
ةو ﻛم ﻣن اﻟﻣﻔﺎﺟﺂت ﺻﺎدﻓت اﻟﻣﻛﺗﺷﻔﯾن اﻟذﯾن ارﺗﺎدوا ﻣﺟﺎھل اﻟﺻﺣﺎري واﻟﻐﺎﺑﺎت و اﻟﻣﻧﺎطق اﻟﻣﺗﺟﻣد ..ﻷول ﻣرة
ﻛﻣﺎ اﺧﺗﺎر اﺑﺟﺎدﯾﺎﺗﮫ اﻟﺗ ﻲ ﯾﺻﺑﻎ ﺑﮭﺎ ﻣﻼﺣﻣﮫ و أودع ﻓﯾﮭﺎ ..ًﻟﻘد اﺧﺗﺎر اﻟﻔﻧﺎن أﺣﻣد ﺳﻠﯾم اﻟﺗﺟرﺑﺔ ﻣذھﺑﺎً ﺗﺷﻛﯾﻠﯾ ﺎ.
و ﺑﯾن ﺣروف اﻟﮭﺟﺎء،ﺷﺧﺻﯾﺔ ﻣﻣﯾزة ﺗﺟﻣﻊ ﺑﯾن اﻟﺳﻣﺔ اﻟﻌﺿوﯾﺔ و اﻟﺣﯾواﻧﯾﺔ اﻟﺷﺑﯾﮭﺔ ﺑﺎﻟﻛﺎﺋﻧﺎ ت اﻻﻣﯾﺑﯾﺔ اﻟﺑداﺋﯾ ﺔ

“When embraced by Selim's exhibition, held currently at Akhenaten Gallery in Zamalek
(1982), we do not feel he is separated from us; he is a whole world full of life and reacts
to the life within us. However, at the same time, we are discovering him for the first time,
and how many surprises are encountered by the discoverers, who went to the darkest,
reaches of the deserts, forests and frozen areas. Selim chose the experiment as an
artistic approach. He also developed his vocabulary, which he imparts to his masterpieces,
and which enjoys a special character combining the organic and animal feature, that
resembles the primitive amoebic creatures, with the letters of the Arabic alphabet.ˮ
