In his initial stages, in the late 1980s, works of Artist. Ismael Abdullah were only paintings; as he composed a remarkable dramatic symphony of the black and white, using variable spaces and geometrical distributions.
While in 1986, his experience in collage started. It seemed the supporting fuel for him; for he sees the collage work as a practical abstract application of a submissive portrait that inspires the imagination. Further, it generates a mental taste to the world of free expression; that is what an artist faces on expressing his notions naturally.
